I saw this article in Family Fun magazine. It has 3 recipes for cooking in a mason jar placed in a pot full of boiling water. I've tried the omelet recipe and it works well, but I'm most interested in the pudding cake recipe. I'll post again with a review when I've tried that one.

Sounds like a good idea. It's really a portable camping oven when you think about it. Would work really well for pudding-type deserts. On another note, I made a poached egg this morning by putting an egg in a pyrex custard dish and putting that on my vegetable steamer in a closed pot. Worked really well and now I don't have to buy one of those multi-holed poacher things.

Those little silicone tulip shaped egg poachers work great in a steamer and they take up very little space and clean up great. The jar idea sounds really good for larger amounts of food. Thanks. Terry R.
