I don't know if we can keep this topic going as long as the "infamous" OKRA, but it seems to me that quite a few folks enjoy rhubarb in it's many forms.
The many variations are truly "mouth watering". Keep 'em coming!

Just a thought, maybe FGRV needs a recipe book as an on-going fund-raiser with DO recipes as the main theme but other recipes also welcome. Could they be sold at rallies and through the store?

Hi: The best thing that I ever heard of... that came from a rhubarb patch was a 13' Boler... For $1500.00 no less!!! Seems someone bought a property complete with rhubarb patch and in the midst of the patch was a Boler... They didn't want it so sold it to a friend... Some times you find the strangest things in someone elses garden... Alf S. North shore of Lake Erie

Actually, one of the tastiest things I ever made is rhubarb...ICE CREAM.

If you're interested, I'll post the recipe.

Post it please.
I have an ice cream maker but I do not bake and all of this talk about rhubarb makes me hungry for the rhubarb pies my grandmother made when I was small.
Now all I have to do is find the rhubarb.

How delightful to see this thread continuing and so many that enjoy Rhubarb!

It's been such a crazy, busy summer with the selling of my design studio, moving all that, and the selling of my home, I never got to make my desert...and, secretly, I love the large leaves in my flower beds!

I, too, am just salivating over all these recipes! Now, we just have to wait for next year's crop!

Or, does Rhubarb grow year 'round down South?

If I take a root from my plant here, will it grow pretty easily? Do you plant it deep or shallow?

If I do get to it before the snow flies, I'd be happy to send anyone a root as well! There was a few notes on the thread about finding it, may as well grow it!

Cheers!

PS, I'm off to New York City for a dose of art and opera! If you write, I' won't be home for a week.

www.studiogigi.net for garden pictures of the rhubarb!

Kudos to all you Betty Crocker winners. I'd be a hoot to see all the winners from my same year and what everyone's doing now. Is there a common thread here amongst winners?

lata, gatas!
