You have me beat, I have only had them grab food out of my hand. One of the issues with humans wanting to interact with wildlife. These birds have it good, the resultant with bears is often not as nice.

We were camped in the Sierra's a few years ago.....my wife and I were walking through the campground and came upon a grandmother who was encouraging her 6 year old granddaughter to get closer to that "cute little bear cub" for a picture. The mother bear was about 20 yard away. I ran up to the little girl and grabbed her and proceeded to tell grandma that was a good way to loose that little girl. Grandma said she had no idea. Later that evening.....the little girl's Dad came into our campground with a bottle of wine and thanked us. I believe he also had a talk with his mother in law as well.

Do not isolate the poor penguins further. They are victims of a polar shift. They use to be in the north pole with Santa then the magnetic poles swapped ends. Santa and his reindeer can fly so they went back to the new north pole. Poor little penguins did not have the means to fly back to the new north pole and penguins were stranded down south. Santa replaced his penguin labor force with elves but no one knows exactly where they originally came from. Elves were required to be paid minimum wages and that started the whole commercialization of Christmas. Prior to Elves in the program you didn't have to pay to take your picture with Santa. Penguins have gotten the raw deal and now you want to eliminate them from the whole program completely. Pick on someone your own size.

Think of penguins as the reindeer of the southern hemisphere (like penguins, they don't really fly either)

On several occasions , when deer hunting in Northern Minnesota I've had Whiskey Jacks perch themselves on my rifle barrel .
