I too like Barkley. Another origional one is D-O-G.
I know someone that named their female PIA, short for "pain in the ass"
I do really like Barkley though.

Money will buy a fine dog, but only kindness will make him wag his tail.

was the mixed breed down the street. It was a year before the little boy owner told me it was spelled D-O-G. Had a good laugh over that.

My late chocolate lab was named General Beauregard Jackson by the previous owner. He came to be known as Jax and was a great, laid back big old goofus of a dog. He and my recently late Boykin Spaniel Charlie Brown Dog are greatly missed.

My grandpa always used to say never name a pet (or child) anything you didn't want to hollar out the back door at the top of your voice.

I do rather like Barkley, though, as he was always one of my favorites on Sesame Street.

One of my friends named his dog Stella so when she got out he could go out in the street and yell "Stella!" He has the perfect gravelly voice for it.

I've always liked Darby, Mangeno and Deuteronomy (Deut for short). My wife doesn't. Therefore, we have two Old English Sheepdogs named Cooper and Cassidy, and a Black Lab named Maddie.

Smile The Name Game

Our son had two cats recently deceased named Kafka and Casey.

I always thought naming a dog "Roof" or "Rough" would be fun.

Of course if you go in your front yard shouting either name and tell people you are merely calling your dog, they may take you away!

My wife suggested for two dogs, "Bow" and "Wow"!

The 9-year-old black Pomeranian-cross my son brought home as a puppy, and conveniently left here when he moved to California, is named Farley. My son wanted to call him Fathead because he was the biggest pup in the litter (Mother-white Pomeranian, Father-unknown). I said that I wouldn't be standing outside our door yelling "FATHEAD". Farley was the first name starting with F I could think of. Like Farley Mowat, the Canadian poet.

Our current resident cat is named Walnut. He's about 2 now. He was found in the local Walmart parking lot when he was about 6 weeks old. He and Farley are about the same size now. Both love wet dogfood.
