My dog's name is "Girlfriend". It makes for some humorous conversations for a married guy.

Not a thing wrong with "Barkley." Sounds great. Make that kid proud and happy.

My wife's poodle/daschaund mix is named Tucker. We should have named him Ellis, the pronunciation of LS, which is short for Little Sh**.

Barkley is good. My dog's name actually became Barkie Sparkie, Barkie for short. Some times referred to as The Barkster. A few of you have met him and you understand.

Some possibilities for other names are: Barkieness, Barkabee, Barkner and just plain old Barker.

What kind/size dog izzit? A toy poodle or a toy Yorkie should not be "Spike", and a Pit Bull/Wolf cross should not be called "Fluffy"!

Speaking of Bruce... if he were a springer spaniel, he could be named Springsteen

Chance, Rocky, Sadie, it depends on the dog. Our Blackmouth Cur's name is Chance, we were his last chance and only chance. The breeder was going to destroy him because his mother's milk dried up. Our rescue, "Chance", he turned 6 today.

We have an Airedale terrier named Chief. It seemed to be a logical name to us as my husband is a retired navy aircraft mechanic. In the Navy someone who works on planes is an airdale and the highest enlisted rank is a chief. So we thought it was a good fit. Plus there is an old joke "when I get out of the navy I'm going to get a dog named Chief so I can kick him in the butt each day and blame everything on the Chief"😄
We also have a mixed breed small terrier named "Scampy" for the way she scampers as she plays.
You have to have fun with picking a name for a dog.
