Oh, if only you Canadians didn't make such a tasty cookie, none of this would have happened!

Actually, I have cookie-crumbs on my hands.

Oh, if only I didn't love those Maple Leaf cookies so much ... none of this would have happened.

I got out a recycled pretty red gift bag (in anticipation of trying to come up with something to give Pam for Mother's Day).

But all the stress of trying to think of a Mother's Day gift ... made me stop for a cuppa tea and some cookies.

Since I'm messy, I grabbed a napkin ... and well, the rest is history, as they say.

I truly didn't mean to desecrate the Maple Leaf flag.

But I was helpless to stop it.

I also spilled tea all over the recycled pretty-red gift bag ... hope Pam doesn't notice that I used it for a place mat!

So-- you found a source for your beloved maple cream cookies?
I can get them anywhere - but I don't particularily like the flavour of maple and maple syrup candy is way too sweet even for me.
:red How very un-Canadian of me eh?
Jean

Jean

Reminds me of an experience last year while visiting Goderich. I was told how good the maple syrup was, and that I could only buy it from the Mormons (Quakers?). I bought some (very good), and when I got home I found it at my local Safeway for 2 bucks less a can. :o :o

>>found a source

No, Jean ... my wife found one lone package of maple leaf cookies stuck behind a bunch of stuff in our deep freeze (we stock-piled them on our last trip up north) ... I had no idea the cookies were there, or I would have eaten them all up long ago!

I only have three(3) cookies left in the pack ...

>>don't particularly like the flavor

I don't know if that's un-Canadian or not ... but I tell you what ... since you don't like them, if you happen to purchase a package or two by mistake ... don't throw them away. Please send them to me!

Charles - so send me your address

Rick - that would been the mennonite farmers.(No Sunday Sales)
Generally we're too far east or north for many of the others.

Maple Cream Maple Leaf

Ches,

I've had that brand of maple cookie, and these are very different from what (we) were referring to. The Maple Leaf Cream cookies actually have no maple flavo[u]r in them, do they?
They are maple leaf shaped, but not flavored with maple. THe others actually have maple syrup in them. We bought 'em first at Niagara, and have been buying 'em by mail now...

Forgive me if I am wrong...

N and D
