Donna, that is so true. We sold our 24 foot wild cat last fall. We hauled stuff out of that thing for days! It was absolutely rediculous! So to find a casita, and keep our stuff under control maybe a bit of a challenge! We promised each other we would never put that much stuff in the camper again.

i learned many years ago when our boys were young to pack lightly but wisely. since we were tenting it at that time, less truly was more.

those skills have been perfected over the years, and although our trailer does not look crowded, and our car is not overflowing with "stuff", it is rare that i cannot produce whatever the neighbours have forgotten.

and there is nothing i love more than seeing those amazed faces when they see the size of the trailer that i bring it out from!!!

Hi: Donna D... We must be abnormal then, because after 4 seasons with our 5.0 we still have some empty storage bins!!! I'm not sure there's a next size up, big enough, for some people tho.

We have some empty spaces, too. It's hard not to want to fill them, but as former backpackers, we learned how to truly get by with less "stuff."

It's true, we do tend to grow into whatever space is available. That's why I've stopped buying larger pants.

Theresa, same here. Long distance backpacking years ago taught me how to pack efficiently in tiny spaces.

And I also have everything I need... it's amazing how thinking the use of each item through means you not only don't take anything you don't need... but you always have everything you do need. Without clutter!

We have empty space in our 13' Ventura and have never discovered that we don't have something we need. We do replenish groceries as we go though (never needed to if the trip is less than a week). We started out tenting - maybe that is what everyone should do! Once I forgot the cast iron frying pan - but remembered it before we got to the park so had lots of time to think through the problem of 'how to cook without it'.

because of our table being left permanently down as our bed and because it is SO difficult to access those under-bed compartments, ours remain empty. a waste of space, we've been told numerous times...not utilizing it to its' full potential etc etc.
well, as i wrote earlier, we still have empty spaces and yet always have exactly what we need, when we need it and usually what the neighbours need, too.

less truly IS more!

We purchased two covered tubs that fit relatively well under the bed. To the back one I attached two straps for retrieval. We keep our clean clothing in them.

Yes, I cut back in my last camper and did fine. Before that I had everything and anything anyone wanted plus a lot extra

After several years of using our Ventura and finding that it has lots of space for 'stuff' we find ourselves a tad frustrated that there doesn't seem to be a way of fitting in the furniture so that the people can be more comfy. I wish for a bed that we can each get in and out of without one of us crawling over the other. It would even be good enough to have two full size bunks - although we generally share a bed it isn't essential to us. We CAMP so don't need cooking/water supply inside - but a porta pottie would be nice in the middle of the night.
