Good News/Bad News in Texas

Good News/Bad News in Texas, the Land of Drought

Wastewater treatment requirements are getting so stringent that we will soon be able to drink our wastewater.

However, there may not be enough to go around.

As a retired manager of the Tacoma, WA wastewater plant, I just couldn't pass this one up.

Yep, even here in Indiana I have designed plants so that they can sell water to golf courses, recycle effluent for heat pump use and irrigation. we even worked a deal to provide treated effluent for a standby power plant, unfortunately the "greenies" shot it down. With nutrient removal a well operated plant will produce effluent that is better than most surface drinking water plant influent so it will be a valuable resource in the future especially in arid areas of the country.

Considering as how we have a number of water people here, I thought you might be interested in how we use lake water to help cool a lot of big buildings.
