How to back up trailer

Only because someone backed his third Casita ... when it was brand new ... into a tree!

Cliff in Nova Scotia

Well, there was this one time we camped on this cliff in Nova Scotia ...

And then there was another time Pam made me buy a new one because she liked the new graphics better than the old graphics ...

And ...

Nope, didn't even so much as scratch my first two.

Sold both for almost what we had paid for them ... and as best I know, they are still out there rolling around somewhere.

But, yes, I did back my week-old third Casita directly back into a tree.

How I managed to do that, I will never know ... but I know it wasn't my fault!

Backing

You know Charles, when we were camping on Goose Island just south of La Crosse Wi. this summer I noticed that some of the trees there were jumping out in front of me while I was driving through the park and rubbernecking.
So that's probably what happened to you too!

Those trees are sneaky Pete!

I agree, those trees are sneaky, Pete.

I swear my tree moved ... but even then, I blame my wife ... who was supposed to be guiding me safely into the campsite, but instead was over making small talk with the Canadians in the next campsite.

Hey, Pam and I are going to be at Illinois Beach State Park this weekend (9/25). How's about bringing your Burro over for a visit?

Illinois State Beach

No can do Charles,
My daughter is getting married on Oct. 5 and the wife seems to think we have too much to do at home. Bummer.
We are going with a group on Oct 12 weekend up at the Union KOA, its only about 20 miles from home but it's better than nothing.
I am still tempted to put out the awning on the driveway fire up the cooker and camp right there.

That may just be our last trip this year, unless I can finagle another one.

Where the heck is Dunlap anyway?
I do love this edit feature.....................

PJ,

Dunlap isn't the end of the universe, but you can see it from there :wave

Middle of state

Pete, we're in the middle of the state, middle of nowhere, actually live in the country in a little unincorporated area outside of Dunlap ... near where Morgan went to school (ok 90 miles from where Morgan went to school ... but for us, that's close!)

Hey, don't put that trailer away for the winter, man! We'll be camping at Illinois Beach state park, just north of Chicago on Lake Michigan several other times this winter ... our daughter and her husband moved from Indiana to Gurnie.

And we'll also do a couple of Starved Rock State Park winter camping trips!

Most Illinois State Park campgrounds stay open all year, with electricity at each site.

A little ceramic heater will keep you toasty warm! Trees (especially moving ones) are also easier to spot once they lose all their leaves.)

This is just getting to be prime camping season ... when all the softies stay home!
