A new convict was sent to a maximum security prison. Every Saturday night in the cellblock he noticed that the other inmates would shout out numbers one at a time which was followed by laughter by everyone else.
This went on for a few weeks and the new guy couldn't stand it any longer. He then asked an inmate next to him what gives? The inmate explained that they were all in there for a very long time and they only had one joke book. Everyone had memorized all the jokes so now they just shouted out the number of the joke they wanted to tell.
Bear with me here!!!
The new kid wanted to get in on the joke telling so it was arranged for him to get the joke book the next day. After many days of studying the book he finally decided to join in on the fun. Saturday night rolls around and the joke telling began.
After several inmates had shouted out numbers which were all followed by laughter the new guy decides to try. 26--------nothing. 54-------- nothing. 87-------. nothing.
Confused, the new inmate asks his buddy why no one laughed at his jokes. His buddy replied " you know what they say, some people just cannot tell a joke"
