I just checked Environment Canada's forecast for Vancouver...I'm sitting here looking out into the rain, wondering if we're ever going to get some dry, sunny weather. I've got a Trillium sitting in the back yard awaiting more work, and I really am getting tired of being cold and damp. (the grass loves it, should cut it twice a week...)

Now, (morning) it's currently 9C (under 50F) and we have "light rain". Forecast high today is 12C (almost 54F).

Here's the joke/tall tale part... Thursday they are calling for sunny (yay!) and 24C (75F) and for Friday and Saturday they are calling for 30C (86F). It's got to be a joke. Those are August temperatures! (getting to be darn HOT, at least for this location)

I hope it's true... I've got the big, front bench/bunk pieces of foam awaiting the stomping wash. (four small pieces now dry and seemingly funky-odour free!)

Dave

That's what I heard on CBC this morning too, 28 for coastal areas, 32 degrees in Port Alberni on Saturday. We camped there last summer and it's just a big heat bowl.

Heading for 93 degrees in Portland, Oregon on Friday, then a QUICK cool down. Back down to 63 degrees the first of the week. Weird.....

It's only a joke if someone's laughing, , and the only one giggling is an emoticon.
yours in Wet Coast confusion,

I cut the grass yesterday under those really threatening looking clouds - and didn't get rained on. This morning I was feeling somewhat smug that I'd gotten the grass cut before the rain started.

Not a joke!!

OK, it's Monday (of the long weekend!) and it's time for an update.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday were HOT (for Vancouver). Today is showery but pleasant (15C - 59F).

Record set in Vancouver for the hottest May 17. 29C (84F) at the airport (right on the water), a bit warmer inland a bit. Was 30C (86F) at my place in Coquitlam. Maybe summer will come - or at least our spirits have been lifted somewhat (and our shoes have dried).

Wahoo!

Last weekend was perfect... dry when we set up, dry when we packed up... and rain and cards and tea in between.

When we left Arizona last Sunday it was 100. We flew up to Redmond WA and have been freezing ever since. There is no way I would ever want to live here. Brrrrr!
