My cholesterol levels went up just seeing that turkey. . Fine job weaving though. My Doctor would quit being my Dr. if I ate any of that bird.

I love bacon, but I've never understood wrapping expensive scallops in cheap bacon. Same with filet mignon. I can think of other things ( like butter ) if you need fat on a lean meat.
As for turkey, go ahead, wrap it in bacon. Can't make it less appealing to me.

Bacon wrapping imparts great flavour to many things. A while back I smoked a fattie wrapped in bacon, along with some pork ribs, and it turned out great.

Nothing wrong with that. Looks great and expect tastes and smells the same.
But, that's entirely different than wrapping the sweet, delicate meat of a scallop in the overpowering pork flavour of bacon.

As to bacon, Ginny and I each eat one strip a day and have an egg a day and both have low cholesterol.

I've often wondered about cholesterol. I worked with a guy who ate carefully, took meds swam a mile virtually every lunch and had high cholesterol. Another guy was well overweight, popped eclairs and had low cholesterol.

So much of medicine is still a mystery, at least too me.

A fattie is ground meat, often sausage, that is mixed with spices, herbs, cut up veggies, or whatever one likes, then rolled up and put onto a smoker for a few hours. The one I showed there is called the Bacon Explosion. Not only is it wrapped with woven thick bacon, it has diced up bacon mixed in with the sausage roll.

I must commend your moderation with the bacon. I did not know it was even humanly possible to have just one slice of bacon.

The one slice of bacon comes from our attempt at a 600 calorie diet. Our one strip and egg breakfast is about 200 calories depending on the bacon and one slice of toast.

It's definitely do able though I expect most days it was closer to 1000 calories. We did it for a couple of weeks. It's amazing how quickly the hunger goes away.

We have pretty much stuck to the 200 calorie breakfast and in general eating much smaller meals. Our kick now is a yogurt for lunch with a piece of fruit. We are no way religious about it but find we can simply not eat as much since we started eating less.

Except for the morning 55 calorie piece of toast we have eliminated wheat from our diet, again not religiously but no more sandwiches, pizza or pasta.

Summing it up I'm an experimenter. I mentioned Vitamin D to my doctor on my last visit and he responded with "Nursing home patients given 800 units per day of Vitamin D fall 40 percent less than those who don't take it". Of course I looked up the study. Now we take Vitamin D, not in a nursing home yet but certainly as old as some of them so we take a 1000 units a day.

As to the one strip of bacon, sometimes we get to the end of the package and there's three strips left, on those days we treat ourselves to a strip and a half. Whoope!

I agree... why bother with the scallops!
I find the same is true with Lobster,why not just eat corn-on-the-cob?
It has a better flavor, and both are just delivery systems for butter and salt.

Almost anything is improved by wrapping it in bacon...My neighbor made me a batch of cupcakes with bacon inside and bacon bits on the frosting.
