Origin of word -- Vegetarian

For some time, now, I've been trying to seek out the origin of the word Vegetarian.

At first I thought the the word, Vegetarian, might have Latin roots.

But I've finally determined the actual origin of the word is American Indian ... Sioux, I think, or maybe Comanche

Yup, vegetarian is an old Indian word for "I am not a very good hunter."

I told my vegetarian friend, who just happens to be named Sioux, your definition of the word and she thought it was very funny.

No apology needed for me, I love that joke. probably some truth to it. :lol that's an old pow wow joke. They get a lot more racial then that told by Indians to Indians. I'll take notes next time and relay them.
