Sunny California

OK, here is the California plan.

First we have Beautiful sunny weather for the New Years Rose parade to bring out all easterners who want to get away from the snow.

Next we collect taxes for all the homes, cars, and new surfboards bought.

Then we start feeling there are too many people here and so the plan is to send them back home. So we have a few little earth quakes. That helps but not enough.

The next step is to sweep the land with Blazing Fires. Now that gets every ones attention.

There are those that still won’t go back home so we have a big earth quake. Now this does two things - it brakes up the dirt clouds and scares the BeeGeebies out of everyone, except the natives.

So to keep the outflow working we have rains. I mean real rains. This country is not ready for rain and so everything floods.

With the rain we have Surf. The Pacific is ready to eat California. Houses fall into the sea. Coastal US Hwy #1 falls into the ocean. Now this shakes up this most ardent hold out.

But yet there are more...

So in December we have Mud Slides. 4 foot walls of mud coming down the 13,000 foot mountains (remember the fires & the earth quake cloud busters) grabbing houses and washing them away finally does the trick.

All this helps the economy. Construction is booming every spring.

Now everyone watch the New Years Rose parade. It is not allowed to rain on New Years in Pasadena, California.

:lol :banana :lol

PS: The news just reported a water spout off of the Los Angelus coast. What is that all about? That does it, I’m outa here. :chased

2 inches of rain then snow

Man, Michael ... everytime I turn on the news, I hear more stuff about California ... sounds like y'all are having a go of it.

Interesting thing about the midwest, however, whatever goes through California eventually hits us here ... as does any storm system that comes up through Texas. And our Canadian friends often drive our temperatures way, way below freezing.

A triple whammy.

Two days ago, temperatures soared to almost 60 F (15 C) ... with more than 2 inches of rain (I think came up from Texas) ... now, thanks to Canada, we're looking at highs in the mid 20s F (-4 C) and looking outside, snow flurries are flying in high winds (Thanks to California and Washington)

California

My neice went to California about 20 yrs ago to go to Stanford. We thought between her education and the earthquakes in San Fran she would be back or out of there at the end of her four years....but N-o-o-o-o-o, she decided to get her grad degree at Berkley...even that didn't do it as she stayed on to get her PHD. Still there today....aboslutely loves it.....I think there must be something about that state....kind of like fiberglass trailers. Gets in your blood and that's it.

I have to admit, had I been born rich instead of good looking, I'd be living in Carmel right now. Yep...but it was just a tad above my budget!;)

Phoenix

One of my grandsons lives there. Does get a tad warm in the summer for my taste. Really nice winters, though.

Course, in SoCal, it's pretty nice year round, 'cept for the quakes, mud slides, fires....hummmm. Don't think I'll move yet.

Talked to my Dad in Lake Havasu City a few minutes ago - he is complaining how cold it is there. Ask me if I have sympathy for him and his new hot-tub. NOT! :o :o :o

(it's -10C or 14F in Edmonton today - and that's warm for there. Guess where I spend the next four days.........)

Have a great holdiay everyone - I am outta here !
