We paid $2900 for our 1987 17' Burro. However, I felt we were extremely lucky. The former owner was nervous about driving it because she couldn't see behind her - and the storage fees were mounting up.
Everything works on it, three burner stove, 3-way fridge
, heater, a.c., no bathroom, but a porta-potty (actually have more room that way). We have a neat chest of drawers where a side bathroom should be, but it isn't as wide. We've had it checked over but it needed no actual repairs.
I found that there were prices all over the map and that age didn't matter too much.
The ones that are really cheap seem to come with a covering of green stuff inside and out
but they come clean from the looks of this site!!
We've camped in below freezing weather with just the ceramic heater on and it stays nice and toasty. Double wall construction makes it heavier than the others for sure, but I think it is worth it. I also like the wide body so the bed can be a normal length.
Take a good look at it. Check for structure integrity, as Gina said, and go for it.
I think you'll be glad you did. Two long trips will pay for ours in hotel savings!!
