Thank you. I see the one with 1 giant bed. Is there another you're referring to that has bunks?

It's a Liberty, so I don't think it has bunks. Seems like there is a title issue as well.

Bunks are actually pretty rare in late model Scamps and Casitas. Most people seem to want the side dinette. The most common bunk model is the Scamp Layout 4, but not too many newer ones. They're out there, though, along with the occasional Casita bunk option, so be patient!

Escape also has a front bunk option on their 17' model. I've seen one or two. Very nice! Unlike Scamp and Casita, it can also function as a small dinette.

Jon, do you know if the bunks are limited to certain years? That would help me narrow my search. Thanks again!

I don't think so.

I do know with Scamp, bunks were the original 16' configuration, with or without the small side bath, and have always been part of the line-up. The side dinette/front bath set-up was added later and has overtaken the bunk layout in popularity. The larger front bath is a big reason.

With Casita I think- not certain- side bunks have always been an option on the 16' and 17' Spirit models- I've seen some pretty old ones, anyway. It's just rarely ordered. The advantage is the larger front bath (and the wider dinette bed on the 17' model).

You are aware of the weight difference between Scamp 16s and Casita 17s? A Scamp 16 will weigh 2400-2600 pounds loaded with 250-275 pounds on the tongue. A Casita 17 will weigh 3000-3200 pounds with 400-425 pounds on the tongue. Big difference, depending on what you're planning to tow with.

I had not considered the weight difference. Thank you! What about the Escape? I haven't come across them yet. Do you have a good link to one?

Here's an Escape 17 (bunk option) that sold a while back. Was only listed a few days before it found a new home.
2012 17' Escape Travel trailer Plan B | Sooke, BC, Canada | Fiberglass RV's For Sale

Escape 17Bs average about 3000 pounds with about 350 pounds tongue weight.

You may be interested in the Trailer Weights in the Real World thread. It has scaled weights of different makes and models loaded for camping. Post #297 links to a spreadsheet you can filter by size, make, and model. It even calculates stats for your selections.

I've got a 2003 16 foot Scamp with layout 4, side bath and bunks.
Getting it ready for camping season with newly greased bearings, brakes checked and have ordered a Fiamma awning.
Not ready to sell it yet...have a week long trip planned to FLA in May.
If my husband and I decide we need something bigger after this trip, I may put it up for sale.
But, you will probably have found your dream trailer by then!

Thanks! Yes. Ideally, we'd have a trailer by Spring Break, or use Spring Break to pick it up and drive it home. We have another trip planned in May we'd also like to use it for.
