LF: EggCamper or 16' Scamp

I am in the market for a fiberglass camper in the lower half of the United States. I currently live in Austin TX and am willing to drive a few hundred miles for the perfect one.

The reason I am specifically interested in an EggCamper or Scamp is the 6'3"+ internal clearance since my partner is tall.

If anyone has any other suggestions for fiberglass RVs with ample head room, please let me know. I am new to this novel RV concept after all

Thank you

Happy Travels

Lillian, check out Lil Snoozy Travel trailers, as they have 6'4" inside height....especially appreciated in the shower.

Don't forget the Casita 17. Availability would be much, much greater since they're made up the road in Corsicana/Rice.

A Scamp 16 and a Casita 17 are about the same, around 6'1". Bed length is limited, too, at about 6'3".

Tall models include EggCamper, Lil Snoozy, and Parkliner. The first two are all-electric. Their beds are longer as well.

By most accounts- I am not "height-challenged" myself- the bed matters more than the ceiling height. You spend a lot more time sleeping than walking around in the trailer.

Thank you for the suggestions, everyone. I am leaning more towards Egg Camper and Parkliner. One detail I forgot to mention in my original post is that my partner and I will be full-timing (for about 4 months at a time). Even though we will be spending most of our time outdoors, I don't want him to be constantly hunched over.

Lillian, In addition to the extra internal height, we love the extra width of our EggCamper. Not only does the bed accommodate taller people laying crosswise, but the center aisle is wider than most fiberglass campers of this size category, so my wife and I can pass each other in the aisle with out having to do the old "shuffle and slide" move. I think you would appreciate the wider aisle, too, while full-timing. The down side is that if your tow vehicle is narrow (SUV or mid-sized pickup), you will likely want mirror extensions in order to see more clearly around the wider camper. We tow with a Highlander, and although our rear vision is good, I feel more comfortable with mirror extensions and a camera on the back of the camper that my wife monitors when traffic gets thick. As for the ParkLiner, your timing is right because they just re-opened under new ownership. Be sure to check them out, too. Dale
