Looking for a used travel trailer

My wife and I are looking for a used travel trailer 17-23 ft long in good condition in the region around Knoxville, TN, or other places for an exceptional trailer. We will be pulling it with a Toyota Tacoma V6, so up to 6,000 GVW is OK. Interior height needs to be at least 6' 2" and bed length at least 76". Interior must be free of mold or mildew.

Guidance on this site will be limited to molded fiberglass units and exclude what the folks here call "stickies" also known as traditional travel trailers.
Fact: Used fiberglass trailers will carry very high retail prices. Advocates of this class of trailer will claim they hold their value because they are better. They are not perfect and have shortcomings unique to molded fiberglass trailers.
You will quickly discover that conventional travel trailers offer some very attractive retail prices in the used market. Check places like craigslist.com to view prices in your area. A visit to a dealer's sales lot is worth the time. You will discover many amazing values as you compare products. Your wish list will have many selections that check off all the boxes as you shop around.

The molded fiberglass market will offer limited selection in the used market.
There are one or two United States producers of molded fiberglass RVs but like those manufacturers based in Canada you must buy direct (no dealer support network for local service like conventional travel trailers). You will appreciate having a local dealer if you are a first time buyer. In addition to selling you a unit he will also set up your tow vehicle with proper sway control, weight distribution system, brake controller, electrical connections and give you complete instructions for safe operation and use of your travel trailer...this service is priceless.
Are Fiberglass units better than conventional trailers ??? That question will be debated forever.
Visit the following websites to round out. Your search.... rvtravel.com
irv2.com.....doityourselfrv.com...RV.net.

Explore all options...select don't settle...you have a great tow vehicle...always ask what fully loaded weight of your selection is before buying...select don't settle...remember most folks buy a trailer that is too small for their needs and end up trading up within a year or two!

Good Luck and Happy Camping!

Thanks for the advice. In a perfect world we would love to find a used Oliver 23' with twin beds, but they are not easy to find.

We have decided to buy a Camplite trailer and have stopped looking for a fiberglass trailer. The Camplite is ALL aluminum and should provide us with years of service. Thanks for the advice provided.
