Looking for an egg!

I'm in the market for an egg to fix up. I'm fairly handy and can do most anything (except find an egg, apparently). I'm comfortable working with fiberglass, paint, wood, electricity, anything mechanical, and welding.

The egg would need to be road worthy to get it home, as putting it on a flatbed would not be an option.

I'm in Oakland, CA and would be willing to travel around 1,000 miles or so, in any direction.

I'd love to come pick up an egg that someone has sitting around waiting for a good home. I WILL give it a good home and treat it right! I would rather find something that needs some love, and then I can make it how I want it. I also promise pictures and commentary of the fix up.

Thanks in advance!

The reason they're hard to find is I think that there's not many left,There's what three or four companies still building them new? And they are way too pricey, and most of the older ones are loved dearly by their owners and they will not let them go. Good luck.

It doesn't have to be a fixer, but my budget is $4,000.

I am glad you were able to get on on ebay. Did it have a "Buy It Now?" They can be hard to nail down on ebay with those last-minute bidders. I got a Burro a few years ago by bidding more than my husband wanted me to (although had he not reminded me that the bidding was ending, I would have missed it). The final price was actually reasonable, but we were fairly naive at the time. Since it was my grandmother's inheritance, I just added one last bid of three hundred dollars that the last-minute bidder did not anticipate. He/she came in under my unexpectedly high bid on his/her last minute bid.

Our Uhaul was Buy-It-Now.

I am not certain, but pretty sure this is the one he bought.

Easter Egg Found!

Yep, that's the one. Luckily, it's only a 2 hour drive from my house. I was looking (seriously) at eggs in Kentucky, Texas, you name it, and having found one close by is a huge convenience.

I bought it from a really nice owner, and he took really good care of it. I'll post pictures after I get it home.

I was interested in your trailer on ebay, but the auction ended early. That was bitter sweet - But I did end up with a shorter drive home, but a longer trailer!

Smile Congratulations

Just like any deal with a stranger, caveat emptor. Be really careful about money, etc. There have been scams concerning eggs in the past.

Fiberglass Trailer Scams

Other than that, I am happy for you. If you are skilled in fixing things and have a place to work, I am sure you will have a fine time making your egg yours!
