Looking for Bunk Beds Model

Hi everyone,

We have 2 small kids and we are in the market for a Bunk Beds 16' or larger trailer, such as Scamp, Park Liner or (rare) Casita or any other similar trailer with indoor bathroom. The year of production does not matter but we would like a solid trailer in good/excellent condition.

We are located in Los Angeles and have flexible time frame for acquiring it.

Thanks!

Alex

Review/search recent listings. I think I recall one or two. I don't know the outcome.

I see a 2014 Parkliner in Georgia now that has bunks. Pretend you are picking it up at the factory. Ha!

Hi Tom,

I've been checking classifieds for a while now - and I don't think I saw anything except this Park Liner. I already PM'ed him, but getting it is an issue. Have you or anyone you know had experience of shipping these things?

From what I saw, Escapes are pretty pricey. I'd like to try and see if I can find a nice used one before looking into getting a new one.

I just saw a 16' Scamp on Boone, NC Craigslist. 2003, I think. Side dinette, bunks, and regular dinette. I'm just the messenger.

I think you or a trusted friend needs to inspect the merchandise before paying.

I suppose you could fly back, then arrange for RV transport. There are companies that specialize in transport. You might do as well finding a safe driving retiree who wants a little trip. They might be right here. I would if I wasn't stuck here in jail. ...Just kidding!

I'd buy that Parkliner if I were you. I doubt it is going to last more than a couple of days.

Google RV shipping, all kinds of options out there. Or make a trip out of it!

I've used frequent flyer miles in the past to inspect stuff. Get a round trip ticket. Look at the item, decide if you want it. Make arrangements to ship it and fly home. Realize if you buy a new unit, you will incur shipping costs too!

Prepare to regret it if you pass on the Parkliner. I have no connection to seller, and I have not inspected it.

Perhaps the brand name is the only thing holding back that Parkliner. If it were a Scamp or Casita, my guess is it would have been gone already.

No bathroom in that Boone, NC Scamp, higher price, older, and even further away.

I use Uship (a broker service) for moving antique tractors (and trailers) around the US. Never had a problem.

https://www.uship.com/

However, I agree a round trip flight for inspection and to execute the purchase is a wise choice. Small % of the purchase cost to know it's what you really want and carry the legal papers home with you. At least that's what I do...

Thanks for all advice!

I've been away for the weekend and I see lots has happened!

Now I know to keep a closer watch. Thanks for all of you who suggested several different campers out there - I did reach out to CA Casita seller and asked for pictures, so we'll see!

In your experience, do "regular" RV inspectors know what to look for in our "special" fiberglass trailers? Just trying to prepare for the next time something out of state pops up.

Hello Everyone!

We are now HAPPY owners of a very cute 1999 Casita 16' thanks to widgetwizard's last post which prompted my 2nd reach to the seller! He ended up being an extremely helpful and friendly guy and after moving QUICK, I was able to seal the deal. Thanks to everyone who responded to this post. NOW.... where to begin?!?
We only got a zillion questions or so, so hang tight before they start flowing, for now they are just buzzing around in my head, half-formed and disorganized.

Alex in LA (w Casita!)
