Looking for trailer

I live in central Texas and I'm in the market for a 13' or 16' camper. I have a 2010 2.3L Ford Ranger, so it can't weigh much above 2000 lbs.

Casita trailers are made in Rice Tx. You should be able to find something within your weight limits. They used to make a 13'.

They still make a 13'er, and that is probably as large as you'll want to go. A 16' Casita or Scamp typically weighs around 2400-2600 pounds loaded. A 13' Scamp or Casita generally weighs 1500-1800 pounds loaded, more if it has a bathroom. Casitas tend to be a little heavier than a comparable Scamp.

You might want to take a look at the Trailer Weights in the Real World thread for some actual user data. Post #297 links to a useful spreadsheet of the data you can sort and filter. It even calculates stats (max, min, avg, std dev).

ranger as a tv

we've been pulling our little 13'Scamp with bath with a 2008 2.3L Ranger with no problems. Just have to mke sure you have proper towing and brake setup. We are planning on eventually upgrading to a Honda Odyssey but this has been working great.

Hi-
We're putting our scamp 13 on the market. You can search FiberglassRv (this site) under: [2010 13' Remodel - before and after shots ] to see the inside. Everything is in perfect order inside and out. Let me know if you have any interest.
