Looking in NJ

Hi - we're looking for our first lightweight fiberglass travel trailer in decent shape in the northeast, or slightly south or inland. Willing to travel a bit to get to you!

Because of our budget and towing limitations, late 70's or 80's, 13', would probably be best, though we'll consider newer and longer.

Scamp, Burro, Uhaul, etc.

Thanks for looking!

It took me 9 months of research before finding the one I now, which I found in Ontario.
I saw pass several that were much too far, as in British-Columbia, where they are manufactured ...
They are just beginning to appear in our region.

As one member wrote to me last year, "When you see one that interests you, jump in your car and calls on the road."
I laughed, but it's almost what I did, I had to 9:00 drive 2 times to really find.

Be patient and attention to fraud vendors that are active when there is a lot of research for this time of year.

You have a copy of "Buyers Checklist" that you find in the "Home" page of this site, left column?

Thanks again Gilles... I've been playing at looking for about 4 years, and I see how few good ones come up in the NE. Now we're serious.

Are you from the NE? I ask because there was a new one listed yesterday or the day before. It's the one I said sounded too good. Thinking about making the 2+ hour drive on Saturday early. But it's in NJ... no title, just a "Homemade" registration. What do you think? Could I register it that way? I thought NJ got more stringent...

87 scamp, no title, nj, 3500

Have you tried
Searchtempest
It looks at all craigslist ads that fit your criteria
Beware of the scams ( unusually low prices are a give away)
Take a copy of buyers checklist when you find one to look at
Good luck

Hi Pat - We have a 1973 Hunter Compact II in Suffolk County Long Island that is in fair/good condition - needs some work to make it awesome, but in very usable condition as it sits right now with some minor cleaning (that I would do ) We were looking for $3500 for it, but are negotiable. If you are interested I can get you pictures. I plan on listing it here as soon as I get off my lazy butt and get good pics
