They think a Boler is a "Bolero"

Can you buy a Scamp or Casita for only $1,000??

I doubt it!!

Well, Buck 62, I've heard of a guy getting a UHaul for $1,100 so $1000 for a Scamp or Casita might be about right. Don't know what Boleros are going for these days...

I don't mind telling you I bought mine for less... of course the seller didn't know what he had & I wasn't about to educate him.

I'm guessing there are countless basket cases moldering away in backyards, serving as playhouses, storage sheds,(like mine was), that, with a little effort, can be bought cut-rate & rehabilitated.

I bought a '61 Airstream Bambi in 1998 for $1100 from a car dealership! It needed cleaning, but was otherwise ready to go. I've spent less than $2k or less on a couple of my trailers. They needed some fixin', but were generally camp-worthy when I got them. Sometimes cash talks!

Not too terribly long ago you could buy older 13' FG trailers all day long for $1000. Folks would line up to sell theirs to you! There was an original Boler for sale here in Iowa this summer in original, clean condition for $850. I probably should have bought it. Alas... with the Internet and the popularity of FGRVs those days are coming to an end.

He may yet get lucky.

The last time i actually went looking,I spotted at least 15 Bolers and Trilliums for sale. The area I looked in was in SE British Columbia around the Cranbrook / Kimberly city area.I drove on most of the back roads and just looked in farmers yards and places like that.I was really surprized by what I had found.
I have since moved from that area but will always be looking out for them.

Sure you can I bought a Compact Jr on the side of the road for 700 bucks. It wasnt for sale. I saw it hid behind some junk in his back yard. I asked if he would sell it He laughed and said it would take about 700 bucks worth of wood to replace it. He thought he really snookered me. I took it home and just about had it done when I spoted our Trillium on Craigslist for a grand ready to camp. I have had a blast fixing up and learning about these old glass shacks.

I bought my uhual ct-13 on side of the road for $600. I could have got it for $500 but was so happy I didnt care. I know I could get $3000-$3500 for it on ebay but I like it too much. Deals are out there but only the sqeaky wheel gets the grease.
