Cool Scamp or Burro 13 only

I am a solo musician in Maine and very tired of couches, weird food, noisy kids and way too friendly pets. Hotel rooms are just too expensive now. I'm towing with a Subaru Crosstrek. Scamp or Burro 13 only fits weight requirements.

Bobbi,
If you check this post Trailer Weights in the Real World you will find that there are other 13footer brands that are in the same weight category. Might make it easier to find your trailer.

In addition to the 'sale' section in this forum, For Sale: Molded Fiberglass Travel Trailers - Fiberglass RV
you can also search here for FG trailers Molded Fiberglass Trailers | Fiberglass RV's For Sale

Our son who lives in Orono Maine told us about a Burro 13 sitting along the road for sale last year. Think it's on Benoch Road. The old guy wanted a lot for it, maybe $7000, don't remember for sure. I think it is still there.

Thank you so much Bob and Mary. I was in Key West when he posted it and he would not wait til we got home a week later to pick it up. He sold it. That's three where the owners won't wait til I can drive to get it. Keep camping!!

Was it the one in Orono? I know that one sat there since last year. Our son said about a month ago it was still there. We haven't asked him recently though.

Geesh, unless there's another one in Orono. Yes, it was a month ago. Is your son still up there to drive over and peek?

Our son goes by there every day on his way to work. We'll ask him to look. If you were trying to buy one in Orono, this is probably the one, but we'll check. I talked to the seller last year. They had used it as an extra bedroom at a summer camp. The guy talked real slow, a few words at a time! Sound familiar?

Bobbi, Pam has given you a link to the Real World Weights thread which is a great resource for helping choose the right trailer for your tug. Keep in mind that Subaru's tow spec on the Crosstrek is 1500 lbs but only if the trailer has brakes & only 1000lbs if no brakes on the trailer. Many of the older 13' and smaller trailers do not have brakes and the axles on them do not have the brackets on them that you will need in order to add brakes, so you may have to budget for changing the axle on some of the older trailers in order to add brakes to it.

Sounds like my kind of bar! Going to a bar with a cage is on my bucket list! Seriously! We haven't ever had them here so have only ever seen them in movies!

Bobbilane, are you still looking for a camper?
I have a 13' U-Haul which is very similar to a Burro for sale near Bangor:
