Want to buy Camper in Michigan

Looking for a Trillium or other similar trailer for sale near Ann Arbor, MI. We'd be good caretakers of your (our) cool little camper (and use it for music festivals, visiting the Benzie and Leelanau Counties, etc.). Please contact if you have something, ideally 2,000 lbs. or less.

When you say Trillium are you looking for a 13' or Trillium 4500?
What features do you want?
Have you seen Greg A's site Molded Fiberglass Trailers | Fiberglass RV's For Sale ?
What is your tow vehicle?
Are you willing to cross the border to bring something home?
What are you thinking of spending?
Roy

This should be in the trailers wanted section.

Michiganer Looking for Small Fiberglass Trailer

Hi Roy,

You were so thoughtful to write to me asking for more information about what we're looking for; my apologies in not replying sooner.

I think the 13' Trillium would be more realistic than the 4,500, as our tow weight is a TOTAL of 2,000 lbs. However, if a 4500 weighs 1,500 lbs. (as it looks like they do from some of my poking around), maybe we'd be fine.

If you know of someone selling such a small travel trailer, then I'd really appreciate it if you sent them our way. (734) four two four, one nine six four = home.

Thanks again!
Lisa

We had a 76 Trillium 1300 and it weighed 1500 lbs and that was with no furnace or awning, had a fridge and 2 propane tanks and 2 batteries - no personal belonings inside. So be very very wary of people's claims as to what their trailer weighs unless they have taken it somewhere to be weighed.
Folks sometimes go by the 'dry' weight listed on labels etc and this is before propane, batteries etc are added so isn't realistic.
Would hate for you to end up with something you couldn't safely pull.

Lisa, Koonetenaigirl is right!

Plus, for every occupant of your vehicle as well as gear, your tow capacity will go down.

Some will tell you, you will be ok to tow over your tow cap <_<. Personally I wouldn't recommend that!!!!!!

The best way to know what a trailer your thinking of purchasing weights is to take it to a scale and get it weighted. You want the certificate of weight.
It's the best $8 to $15 dollars you can spend. Not only for your safety but for the care of your vehicle etc..............

Best of luck to you in your search! Vintage, retro trailers are so fun and worth the search.

STILL LOOKING IN MICHIGAN. We just returned from an all-day road trip across the State of Michigan yesterday to check out a T@b trailer for sale. Although we really appreciate the styling and quality, it really did feel kind of like a "bed on wheels," and NOT like the campy, cool, "Miniature Cottage" like feeling you get inside of a Trillium, Scamp, Boler, Casita, etc. Although I was sad to spend so much time on the highway on such a gorgeous summer day, it confirmed to us just how much we'd like to join the Fiberglass RV Community ... with a little Trillium 1300, Scamp 13, or similar trailer of our own. Thanks to all you fine folks out there keeping an eye out for us. You seem like a special breed of folk.

The 16 foot Scamp that I had flagged earlier in AA was pretty nice for the price. Looks like it sold. Maybe too heavy for your TV, though.

Lisa and Michael

Sorry to hear the T@b did not work out, We missed you at the Tin Can Tourest ralley at Pt Cresent yesterday. There were some "Eggs" there and we had a great time talking and looking at all the neat trailers, I had about 75 folks tour my Scamp. Some of them will be at the Algonac in September. Keep looking, and good luck with your hunt.
