What year is your Chrysler?

Towing capacity for the 3.3L varies from year to year...

According to this page, you can tow up to 2,000 pounds "if properly equipped" which may require upgrades such as a transmission cooler. You might consult your owner's manual for other requirements for towing.

That limit is of course the maximum- your choices in that case are pretty restricted, especially since you want a toilet and shower, too. Those usually entail holding tanks etc., and there are few if any fiberglass trailers so equipped that will come in at or under 2,000 pounds when loaded.

Hopefully if folks have info to the contrary they'll weigh in with suggestions.

Good luck!

Francesca

If your T&C has a lot of miles on it I would think very carefully before starting a trailer towing career. Having had two transaxles give up on mine (fortunately in warranty for the first one, It was a company car anyway) I have learned that it is the weak point in the driveline. Others may have better experiences, but try to find an experienced Chrysler transmission guy to talk with first.

If you have never had the transmission serviced do so. Also get a WDH, thats Weight Distribution Hitch for it when you get one. I went to my dealer and got a receiver hitch mounted. They replaced to whole bumper to do it. If you get a FG trailer that isn't over 16' you should be ok if your towing capacity is 2000lbs. I'm surprised that it is only 2000. My 2006 is at least 3500lbs.

Good point, Gene- I see on Chrysler's spec sheet for the 2006 models that with specific enhancements described as "optional towing package" the 3.3L can tow up to 3600 pounds.

Funny there doesn't seem to be a similar sheet for the 2005-?
