This ad claims that only fifteen were made - that is a rarity. (And it is sold.)

I am in the process of purchasing a Dodge Dakota one with the intent of restoring it a bit, needs a little cleaning up and such. Has 56k on it and I am in Maine.

They made something like 10 or 11 .
2 or 3 Dodges and the rest Rangers.
I drove a Ford Scamp which was for sale a few years ago.
At the time I passed because it would not fit in my old shop.

You might not be able to find a Scamp but you most certainly can still find a Sunrader as there are quite a few of them still around. Those are also made with molded fiberglass shells so while it is not a Scamp it is certainly a comparable choice and quality. The majority of the Sunraders are powered by a Toyota truck which proved to be reliable. They come in two different lengths 18' and 21' with several different layout options available in the 21' length including a side dinette. They also have a full across rear bath option in the 21' models which gives you a nice roomy bath and there were some rear kitchen with small rear bath versions.

Sunraders were 4 cylinder models and 6 cylinder. I would recommend looking for one made in the late 1980s or very early 90s with a 6 cylinder Toyota. There are even a few, rare 4 x 4 versions around.
