Wanted used camper/trailer under $4K

Hi, We are looking for a good used trailer/camper for a taller person. From different posts, it looks like the bed length is the important point. I'm 6' 3". We are in Montana but very willing to travel a considerable distance to pick up the right "egg". Will consider bathroom or no bathroom. Thanks,

I have a 98 Casita 17' with bath. I am in central ND. Right now they are sitting in my yard snowed in.
I say "they" because I also have a 98 16' Casita w/o bath.
I bought the 17' last fall thinking I would enlarge but realized that it is too heavy for my mini van. I could use my pickup but want to have the choice.
I haven't done anything with it except put on new tires. It has a roof air system & awning. It needs some TLC and a good cleaning in my opinion. Winter hit before I could give it a thorough going over.
I decided over winter that I want to sell them both and buy a new Scamp this spring.

Hi Ed

Welcome to the group, there's a lot to learn about FGRV's and you are off to a good start by joining in with us.

First, being over 6' tall can be a real disadvantage in FGRV's as most are much narrower and shorter inside than conventional trailers, and most beds fit East-West, meaning sideways to the trailer, but that's something you will have to check out on the "Bed Sizes" post elsewhere on the site. There are a few that have twin singles in the north-south direction, such as the Little Joe, but the Little Joe's are still well over $10k.

Next, your budget is somewhat limiting for most Egg's that fit the description of "Good". Most in that price range will usually need more than just a clean up before the next trip out.

But right now is just the end of the low-price season and, if you see something that fits your needs, grab it before someone else beats you to it. Starting in about 6 weeks prices will start to go crazy and you will see increases in the range of 50% or more by late June.

Good Luck and keep asking questions.
