Even though you found a lightweight you are in the range of a trailer that tows best with a WDH. Thinking safety and stability it is the way to go and for a minimal expense.

I have always been impressed with this Rav4/egg rig which uses a WDH. See post #2.....

A scale is a great idea. We will get a WDH for sure. I will check on the weights when Jerry gets home. Right now we have the hybrid trailer I was hoping to trade. I never even asked about the tounge weight. It pulls down the RAV4 quite a bit. I am putting it up for consignment this weekend.

Casita Standard is one without a front bath. Front bath model is the Deluxe (in Casita only; Scamp's Deluxe is a wood interior). So you should expect a heavier hitch weight than on the Standard you listed.

I should confess that the person who called answered my Craigslist 'Wanted' ad. I am not sure if he is a member of this site. I will find out tomorrow when I go see it.

Unless you really want to get another vehicle, you should try WDH before selling it.
My tongue weight is about 320#.
Pix show my RAV without and then with WDH.

Yes, with a WDH it will be better/safer. Also beware of the possible stability issues with the carry all rack on the rear of the trailer.

Anybody have any experience with Coil Rite air bag helper springs? A Uhaul mechanic suggested the air bag helper springs for us, because he said the wdh would not be effective for our size vehicle and what we are towing.

Suggest you talk to Deryk since he put air bags in his RAV4 and then got a WDH because the air bags didn't help.
Don't know why your Uhaul "mechanic" would say that.

I love a happy ending. Congrats Kristi, and thanks for stopping back with the pics. It looks like a great find at a great price. Nice to know those are still out there.
