WTB 16' or 19' Scamp or Casita or similar
We are looking for an older model, 1980s or 1970s, fiberglass travel trailer. We want a Scamp, Casita, Boler, Trillium, Play-Mor or similar egg shaped RV. Small enough to tow with our V6 truck but big enough for our family and dogs, so 16' or 19', max. 20'.
Not interested in a big refurbishing project, since we plan to travel cross country in it. Brand isn't a big deal to us, as long as it's in solid condition.
RV would preferably have toilet, shower, and double or queen bed (not bunks).
Send us a PM if you have something for sale in Florida!

Found this listing on craigslist, and am wondering if it's a scam, seems too good to be true... anyone care to share their thoughts?

casita
I towed it with a Town & Country van. Had a tranny cooler and HD shocks on it. No problems towing. Got about 15 mpg

To Kootenaigirl: thanks for confirming my suspicion.
To Ed: thanks for sharing the link. Your Casita looks very nice, but a bit out of our price range. Really, that's why we're trying to find an older model.
To MC1: we have a 2000 Nissan Frontier XE, and it has a 3,500 lb towing capacity.

You say, "family" but you don't want bunks? Perhaps you can explain how many people your gonna be sleeping in the trailer.

Well, I would have liked to have edited the original thread, but maybe that option timed out.
So this is an update to what we are looking for. We recently traded our truck for a Subaru Forester, and this vehicle has a towing capacity of 2,000 lbs. So ideally we are looking for a 16 foot Scamp. We don't want a set up with two single beds, since we have an infant, would prefer one big bed.

1800# 16' Casita
Recently gutted and rebuilt, I have a 1990 Casita that needs to go to a traveling family....full bed and bunks. One bunk can be lowered to create a back rest for a long seat.
I've been towing with a 4cyl. Subaru Outback wagon.
Give me a nod if you are interested.

Thanks to everyone for responding.
We just acquired a Burro camper. Woo-hoo! So I guess we can request this thread be archived by a moderator.
