I'm looking for a replacement lock for my '73 trillium 1300. Any out there?? The current door is also in poor shape and could use a replacement. Any ideas of where to look? Anyone have one by chance??

Thanks! New to this group. We just bought our Trillium on Friday. Given it a lot of love this weekend and plan on more. We love it!!

You can buy a new door from Escape in Chilliwack, or Out Back in Calgary. Or, soon I may have one for sale, also in Calgary.

Look on ebay for door latch or parts. Is what you have a Bargman L400?

If it is a L400 good luck finding one. Bargman discontinued long ago.

There's a L400 on ebay now for a outrageous price, and also some parts.

From your comments I realize that it is a Bargman L300. Not sure what is wrong with the lock but the prev owner said that when she locked it from the outside she couldn't get back in. They had to take the door off to get in and she never locked it again. We were going to take the lock apart to see if it just needs some adjusting or if a new lock is needed.

The L300 is a square assembly, about 5" X 5". The L400 is a long narrow latch. I would take the latch apart, clean and grease it. Or take it to a good locksmith and let him do it. I've found with the L300 latch that the key will turn 180 degrees, or half a turn from lock to unlock position, but to be able to lock the door on the inside the key had to be at the halfway point of its travel. Don't know if the L400's are the same. I used white grease to lube ours. If you're not sure if you have a L300 or a L400, look them up on ebay, and after you see those prices you will certainly want to fix yours.

A 1973 Trillium 1300 would have a L300. It was not untill 1977 that they put the L400 on.

thanks Dave, I can always learn something here. So since it's a L300 there are some parts available on ebay, and a couple complete latch assemblies. I've seen only one Trillium, and it had the L400.

I bought an L300 at an Edmonton RV dealer for $50. They were cleaning out old stock.
