Google's letting me down in my search for a new water tank.
The PO of my '78 Trillium
4500 put a large (4x6) rectangular hole in the water tank in order to....
Who knows? Sure beats me. Maybe he figured he'd make a nice hole to scrub the inside clean and forgot that the water would come out the hole?
There was a very badly attempted, leaky repair which I have removed. The repair was some sort of plastic sheet screwed
on, over the hole and then "sealed" with silicone. The repair probably leaked worse than the hole.
Anyway, I'm 99% sure the tank material is the dreaded LDPE, which seems not to be (according to my research) patchable.
Does anybody have ideas for a source for a new tank? It's kind of an odd shape, but not terribly. It's essentially a long flat box shape, but it tapers from 6 inches high at the front to 4 inches high at the rear. My calculations put it at 13 gallons. It goes under the floor, beneath the dinette table.
