Fan is still available.. seller doesn't really seem to understand how (or really want?) to sell things online - wants to take it to the UPS store for a shipping quote and have me mail a check. No thanks.

Sorry Sarah, but someone with only 22 posts is not someone too familiar with on line scams. Sometimes the old fashioned way via US mail and personal checks after clearing is safer and better for all parties involved. I understand a lot more than that you may think. Thanks anyhow..

Um, are you kidding, really? Just because I have a few posts here doesn't make me ignorant of scams, it only makes me relatively new to THIS particular forum, which is true, as I only purchased my trailer about 6 weeks ago. I am very familiar with buying and selling online, which is why I can call this as BS when I see it. I'm not saying you are a scammer, but you have some very unusal preferences for how you want to handle things, none of which you were immediately clear about - and I'm not going to jump through hoops to make the deal happen to save at most $5 off buying a new one somewhere else that would be much much less hassle - I've already ordered one from amazon which will be here tomorrow, so it's a moot point now.

Kinda sounds like to me, you need to hang out with a better class of people

And Jim has over 5,000 posts (a former moderator here) and you think he'll scam you He'd be run out on a rail

I understand trust issues, but really....

This forum is sort of like a neighbourhood. When one moves into a neighbourhood they have to learn who to trust and who to respect. Once they've been around for a while and done that, they will earn the trust and respect of those already here.

I'm not pointing fingers here, it is just something I've seen happen all too often in a number of forums. The keyboard and screen tend to depersonalize human encounters.

Sounds like what we used to do on Ebay back in the day. As a seller I took 100's of personal checks and not one bounced. You would wait about 10 business days for it to clear before you mailed out the item. Worked great. I think that today people don't want to wait, hence online stores. I wouldn't have had a problem doing it that way with Jim. He's surely not like dealing with someone on Craigs list as he is a well known member here. Just trying to help out other members. OK, I'll get off my soapbox

Re-reading my post, I came across as snarky. And, that's really not like me.

But, really this is a forum unlike most found on the WWW. We are a small community of like minded people. ALL MOLDED TOWABLES is the focus and we do everything we can to help new members with issues, problems and questions.

All I can say, if you have an "issue" with someone, rather than post for all to see... just be polite and ask additional questions through a PM.

Otherwise, "those" people may be shut down faster than you can say: "foldable, seamed, slab-sided, fiberglass."

Truce and peace...

it seems she wanted the quickest paypal payment and shipping via if it fits we can ship way which is common on Ebay but I do not do paypal nor have a supply of prepaid mail boxes in my warehouse. I have to go get a price from UPS, tell the person to add that amount, wait for the check to come in the mail and then to clear and then I ship. But she wanted it in 3 days.
Thanks for supporting me and rallying around the campfire.

It just don't work that way, even using FiberglassRV Express.
