For Sale: Bargman L-400 lock

Bargman L-400 lock, complete, with all screws, and in good condition (nothing bent or cracked or loose), with 2 keys. I will also include an extra lock barrel (which may or may not fit this lock), and a few other items which somehow ended up in the same box, but I can't remember if they actually came from that door and lock.

It was on a Ventura trailer, but the door interior frame literally fell apart and I had to make an entire new door, so that it was much easier to use a Trimark type lock.

Two things:

1. I presume that it is an L-400 lock, because it looks like one, and the number 10-40-010 is stamped on the main unit, and the number 10-40-30 is stamped on the back plate. However, I AM NOT ABSOLUTELY SURE, so if someone in this forum is more knowledgeable and tells me it is not L-400, I will of course remove this lock from sale.

2. I can only sell to a Canadian address... it is just too complicated to arrange payment from the US.

I just had a look at my Bargman L-400 lock & there are no #'s stamped on it
do you have any measurements?
& I don't think we have the screw in the same place!

The numbers are stamped on the reverse side, so you would have to take the unit apart to see anything (see attachment, on the bottom right hand side)

In any case, the outside dimensions (both of the front and of the back plate) are 6 7/8" by 2 13/16.

In Mary Watson's post (elsewhere on this site), she does mention the number 10-40-010, and states that "it is the rare rectangular one", so that is why I assumed it is a true L-400 lock... but again, I may be wrong.

Hi-
I'm not sure what you mean by "failed", but mine didn't work when I got my trailer. I took it out and brought it to our local locksmith, who fixed it for $30.00. The cost included two new keys...

I imagine he won't get it any how. It's been 3 years since the ad was originally posted. The "gift" probably has something to do with taxes at the border.
