cushions

HI: I'm from Lancaster,Pa and I own a Burro. However because of where it was being stored it got a little wet in side and the cushions and covers are rotted and mildew.. so I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get all new cushions and covers?
Thanks
Patti

You might check yellow pages for Elkhart Indiana, many RV's are built there so there are many suppliers and vendors. We found a couple of places that would make cushions to our dimensions and even sent us cloth samples.

If you have the old cushions to measure or use for a pattern having them made was pretty reasonable as I recall. Was several years ago.

Yes, keep the old cushions for patterns. Even if they are unusable you can stop the biologicals and rot long enough to get patterns. Even if they are traced on paper. Don't make the mistake of many newbies and throw them out prematurely.

I bit the bullet and had new ones made, with good quality firm foam. I made my own templates from heavy butcher paper, so the cushions fit snugly when made into the bed - didn't want to end up with gaps or slippage while sleeping. Plus I got fun, quality fabric!

I found a guy at the local fabric warehouse who does a side biz sewing stuff - he did a wonderful job but it wasn't cheap - about $1800! You can find someone who does this through an RV repair place or such. My feeling is, I don't want to sleep on 30 years of someone else's sweat and f**ts...so I had new one's made!

I was relieved to know my foam was in good enough shape that I could wash it. Some people even have them steam cleaned. (So much easier than my process.) If cost is an issue, you may be able to find an old set someone is selling and recover them.

Google "replace rv cushion DIY" for some other ideas.

Good luck!

I have a Trillium 4500 with worn out cushions. The vinyl back is still OK. I plan to reuse that as a pattern, and the back of the "new" cushions.

I bought 4" foam cushions from:

www.buyfoam.com/Store_Start.aspx

Custom cut foam to your door, fast and easy.

They sell several different types, take a look.

I got the XL-38 in 4"

1 - 26" x 76".....1- 20" x 76".....2 - 24" x 45"....2 - 15" x 43"

$316 delivered to Indiana

All the foam came packed in 2 boxes about 16" x 16" x 28" in size. When I cut the tape, the boxes started popping seams and expanding really quickly. It was a fantastic show!
