Looking for the holy grail "Bargman L400" for parts

Some one broke into my Surfside and the Bargman L400 didn't fair too well. It's not dead but is very ill, by some act of god the lock cylinder survived, but some of the internal pieces broke.
I know this is as rare as the grail itself and finding a complete one in working order is only by devine intervention.
So what I need is to find someone that has an old "broken" L400 sitting on the shelf just waiting to give new life as an "organ donor" so I may breath life into my.
(Looking for non functional Bargman L400 for part)

Bargman L-400

Hi Will, sorry to hear about your Surfside. I have an old Bargman L-400 you could look at. It all works, except the bolt or latch part (whatever it is called) is so worn that it won't latch any more. If that helps, please email me directly. kathie

I am upgrading my Burro and have a more current lock/latch on order , if you are still looking make an offer , it works but has no keys and has some wear to the inside latch. May have other systems from that era that maybe useable parts just ask. Bill

If OP doesn't snag it, I would love a link to this. Mine is in great shape except for one spring and my local guy wouldn't touch it.

Just look on eBay, do a search for Bargman L400. Warning: it's not cheap, I think it was $145. Any Bargman latches or parts go for big money.
Edit: it's gone

Have you tried your local hardware store? I bought a rebuild kit for my L300. There was a hole in the bag and some parts were missing. The seller had a picture of what was included. A couple of screws and a spring were missing. Nobody wanted it. I got it for $25. Found the missing parts in the bins at the local Ace.

I seriously doubt you can find an L-400 at the hardware store. Extremely rare. If you do find one (they occasionally pop up on EBay) they go for $400 to $600.

Unless you are trying to have a museum piece that is entirely original, it's probably easier and cheaper to redesign the door to use a more common lock.

Sometimes the repair kits pop up though, and they seem to sell in the $159 to $179 range.

No, but he might find the spring he's looking for. I did. .

Ebay is the best bet but you have to keep looking. I bought a new in the box L300 for $65, they usually go for $250 and up. And it was Raz that pointed it out. Thanks again Raz. Sometimes older RV places have old stock and don't know the value.

Yup, that part works on this lock. I will try to figure out putting pictures up on this site. Can't tell if that worked or not. If you need pictures faster, email me at roadmonster@live.ca
