My right side window and rear windows are from Scamp, left side is the NOS window.

Pic of driver side window area after using heat gun

I am missing the passenger side front sliding glass.
I have attached a after picture of the left window after using the heat gun.

You can buy just the glass. You would want it radiused on two corners. Clink on Quick Online Quote and go through the steps to price it - about $30 as I recall.

I found a place that currently makes 24x20 size but when i contacted the owner he told me he could custom built one for the 24 1/2 x 19.25 opening for $135 with trim ring. But he is shutdown right now until Jan and he could have it done near the end of Jan. Will update when I find out more.

That's a good price, actually a few dollars cheaper than the Scamp window that I adapted to fit our Uhaul. Any custom made windows I found cost around $300. I'm sure you know that original Uhaul windows used rubber weatherstrip rather than trim rings to hold them in place. Be sure they know the corner radius of the opening, and the wall thickness for the trim ring. There is a radius gauge you can print from Atwoods site, but you can make your own with paper and a drawing compass.

AND, if it's a slider that's being made, make sure it comes with window screens!!!

I wonder why you couldn't use a window with a trim ring, if you sized it properly. That would be my first choice over the current design.

eBay Ad

I appreciate everyone's input and we will see what happens. I have attached a pic of the 24x20 regular size and here is the description.

Looks like a good source in that they seem to custom manufacture.. Is this it?

My Scamp side window uses the trim ring, but I had to install it backwards. When I was researching replacement windows way before those NOS windows became available, one of the problems I found was that there were no window / trim ring combinations for the thin wall that Uhauls have. There were various thickness trim rings available, but they seem to be for wall thicknesses over 1", as for a stick built trailer.

Yes you found it Thomas. They are located in Portage Michigan I am not sure if that's near you. I will let you know what I find out next week.

Mary and Bob When I talked to the owner. I brought up the wall thickness.

The ad says. Trim rings are available to fit From 0" to 2 1/4"walls by calling our store. Q

That is about 120 miles from me. I'm all set with windows, but always looking to help the next UHauler.

This may be the answer for a lot of camper owners, including those Uhaul owners who missed the NOS window deal.

Or those of us who have VTs and could not take advantage of the new ones, that is, if they make the long ones.
