I took my 211 out and replaced it with an all electric fridge.

It's about $600 for a new 3 way and every place I've camped in my Burro has had electricity.

I spent the last 5 years camping in a teardrop trailer so I'm use to not having a fridge. If I camp with out power, I'll use a cooler.

Jim...LOVED your ANSWER to my question!!!

...$600 is a hell of a lot of money for such a tiny trailer fridge AND it's not even including the installation price, if you're mechanically inept, like moir!

Electric works fine!

Will we next see you in Bandon or at Champoeg Park...or BOTH events?
I'm organizing a Garden Tour of Bandon, for the EGGERS...any interest in joining us?

My former Burro had a little electric fridge like that. Wouldn't keep food cold for more than 4 hours, which didn't fit my traveling style. I use it to store bread and chips, and bought a big $50 or $60 cooler. The cooler could keep ice for 2-4 days.

Burr, if you need to economize, you might look for used ones. There's a huge RV boneyard in Missouri along I-44; places like that might have the right size. Other than that, a new Dometic or Norcold are an arm and a leg, and I've never seen them discounted much anywhere. I was looking, too.

My 1985 came with an electric fridge. I use a Coleman steel belted cooler for when we are on the road and after the fridge is plugged in at the campsite and gets cool we put a few things in the fridge but still keep quite a few things in the Coleman cooler. Even after days, the steel belted Coleman's packed ice is still frozen. I just can't justify the cost of a new 2 or 3 way Dometic. If we didn't have an electric site we would just use the cooler. Those small fridges aren't that big and don't hold much anyway!
