Trillium belly band

Removed the belly band from my '78 trillium 1300. The band is in good shape but the rubber/plastic insert is history. Hard to ship but if you can pick it up-it is yours. Also have a half gallon of epoxy primer and an un opened quart of catalyst I'll make some one a heck of a deal on. Again can't ship. I'm in western Oregon.
Thanks-Reid

I know you're outside Corvallis, but don't pitch the belly band. We just concluded the Oregon Gathering otherwise there might be people beating down your door already. Where's Bill Ghormley.... Bill look at this post!!

Trillium Belly Band

Reid - Donna D.

Hi, This is Bill G.

I got the message.

Reid, I will come and pick up the belly band at your convenience. I will have adequate large sheets of cardboard (mattress boxes), plywood or whatever it takes to help the belly band find a new home.

Reid - Donna D., thanks for giving us the heads up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bill

I'm available from 6 AM to 11 PM. Thanks again.

The Trillium belly band hides the joint between the top and bottom halves of the fiberglass shells that make up the exterior of the trailer. Because of the construction technique it becomes a potential leak site as the trailers age. Some people remove the band and fiberglass the joint smooth, others replace the band with an adhesive automotive moulding, those looking for a quick fix just caulk it. Hopefully yours doesn't leak and you don't have to deal with it. If you do there are several threads explaining the repair process.
Happy Camping-Reid

You ditched your old band. I assume you glassed over the joint. Did you replace the band with anything? If so what did you use?

I did glass over the joint concealed by the band. After paint I decided I liked the look with out the band and didn't replace it with anything.

Thanks. I found your previous thread on the topic. Very helpful!

I'm going do this on my trill. It makes sense since I'm doing a full tear down followed by a rebuild.
