"U Haul" marker lens(red) needed

I need a Red Marker Lens for my U Haul CT. I can get them that have Arrow and other names but I would like to find and original one with "U Haul" on it. All the others are there and in good shape so if you have one that you are willing to part with let me know.

Chris,
Tail light lenses are impossible to get. There is a line waiting for a guy that was trying to re-make new molds, but haven't heard from him in months. What did you find the has "Arrow and other names on them"??

You are correct. The tail light lenses are not what I'm looking for. I am looking for the marker light lens from the 3 light bar or the top marker lights. Thank goodness my tail lots are ok. I just need a lens. And I have asked around some of my U haul co workers that have been around for a long time and they don't have any surplus.

I have not seen a source for the original lens with UHaul molded in, but someone here might have one off a camper. As you have pointed out, UHaul still sells the lens and light assembly.

I hope to find a used one or two. I have one on there but it just does not match. Crazy but I think they are a nice touch to the history.

I started out worrying a lot about keeping it all original and as time has passed I've gotten more into making it convenient to camp in. Either approach is fine, it is your camper.

Exactly our feelings, we are trying to keep some of the originality, but some things needed modifying or upgrading. When we did a vintage teardrop restoration a few years ago I replaced some of the marker light lenses, and then they didn't match the older ones, shape was the same but the color was off a little.

I've been trying to hold out for original UHaul stuff, too, for as long as I can. I have a couple red marker lenses, but I'm holding on to them since my current lenses are cracked and almost done. In fact, I'm one amber lens short and have a red one on that light up front! I hate to take the lens off to fix a bulb since they are so brittle now, but it can't be avoided at times.

Good luck in your search. You may find someone who went with all new fixtures and has the lenses left over.

Well. Knew it was a long shot. By you never know. And when I start towing it around. May upgrade them all due to having better visibility.

Seems like there are a lot of surplused out u-Haul utility trailers running around out there- has anyone tried looking at any to see if they have the same markers?

Seems likely that U-haul might have used such a thing fleetwide regardless of trailer type, back in the day...

Francesca

P.S.

It occurs to me that I know someone that owns a former U-Haul utility trailer...next time I'm over there I'll take a look myself!

Anyone got a pic of the lens we're talking about?

F.

Boy, isn't there some crafty college kid who wants tuition money out there? I found how-tos for making smaller marker lights online.
