Uhaul utility access panel CT-13

I am looking at replacing the access panel on the left side where water and electric hookup are. The door is torn off the one I have.

I think you will need to replace the whole hatch.

I made a template and cut one out of aluminum plate.
I used aircraft revit's To attach a hinge and painted to match.

They are expensive, but last years and will last even longer if painted with Fusion paint before the install. Protect plastic from UVs, should be an all molded mantra!

I bought a water fill hatch from Hitch Anything. Check out this page starting about 1/3 down. Prices are much better! Hitch Anything - Hatches

If its only the door you could make that out of 1/8" aluminum. Mine has the piano type hinge. Turn latches are available online or at a RV dealer. I used 1/8 aluminum for a storage compartment door and a drawer front.

The second to last item on this page has a 6 x 11 cutout.

Possible Solution

In searching for a panel that size. I am considering putting a exterior shower access panel in it's place. So far it's the only panel I can find which provides both the door and the interior panel. Phoenix USA 377-I White Exterior Shower Box : Amazon.com : Automotive

Looks like it would work, throw away the shower stuff, and it's free shipping. Install with hinge on top????

The shower access from Amazon looks like a great idea. I think I will be going that route myself. If the existing holes are going to be a problem, I will line the inside with a piece of thin PVC board to mount new water connectors.

After ordering it I found it doesn't fit the open hole very well. I will probable order the other door mentioned in this thread.

I bought the shower box but have not tried installing it as of yet. I just finished installing a 6000 btu a/c under the front seat next to the door. I installed a power converter, group 31 battery and rewired both 12volt and shore power. I installed a larger fridge as well.

Next project is installing portable propane water heater and changing sink faucet for hot and cold water. I was going to use the shower box to create a shower on the outside of the uhaul.

What exactly is wrong with the shower box enclosure? I assume it's too small based on your response. Please elaborate.

Thanks,
Rob

The cut out is not what I had expected and none of the holes were in a useful location for me. Additionally, I was planning on mounting it like Bob suggested but found that water would be a issue as it would run off the camper and into the box from the hinge and right into the camper. Additionally, i was removing the shower faucets hardware for my purposes. Maybe one of the ones that has no holes drilled already would have been better.

I am also upgrading electrical with a PD 4045 and two 6 volts batteries but am not done yet.
