It is not that hard to rewire. you may need some crimp on spade connectors. But in general the positive wire is wired to one side of one switch and a jumper wire from the first switch same side is wired to the other switch. From the other side of each switch take a wire to the fan or light
. on the other connection of the fan or light
take a jumper wire to the other one and bring the negative wire to that point. you can make jumpers with the blue plastic crimp on tap connectors. they make one that takes spade connectors or a plain one will also work. I am not a fan of those types but in this case it is the simplest way to explain it
If it worked before I suspect all you need to do is to make sure your positive and negative are hooked appropriately, You do have power to the location and you didn't blow a fuse when you rewired it.
