FGRV Crashes on Android

The FGRV app is now crashing immediately after launch on my Android phone. I've cleared cache, cleared data, rebooted, and even uninstalled and reinstalled as troubleshooting steps, but the app still crashes immediately. No other apps have this issue on the phone.

My suggestion would be to try accessing via the website and not via the app. I don't install apps that aren't abolutely needed, such as depositing checks from images. I find apps run in the background even when you think they are off. They hog memory, processor, and battery life.

I also rely a lot on several Kindle Fires over my phone. I like the 7", like the 8" more, and the difference was big, but I love the 10" even more, and bought two of them. Great tech. for the money. Yes, like others, they track your data.

I would love to say it is all you and your phone, but it just did this to me when I tried too.

It is working fine on Tapatalk.

I only use the app when I post pictures otherwise I use the web version. It has more detail and you can still use the old easier on the eyes blue ( default) skin found at the drop down window bottom left.

You lose a lot of functionality with the default skin. For me, as I age and my sight slips, I find the brighter the better for seeing print.

I uninstalled then reinstalled and it seems to be working now

Working fine for me, but I “force” the app to use the desktop mode.

There was an update yesterday to that app and it now seems to be broken for android users. We have contacted the developers and are hoping for a solution quickly.

Not sure what I'm missing. The only issue I've had is on occasion someone posts a picture that turns the text into mouse print.

As far as the app, I used it to post this morning. It balked at one of my pictures but did work in the end.?

I had that when I went back to add the screen shot to my first post, it said something like I was not authorized to post it. When I attached it to a new post, no problem.

The app is working good for me now, so that is a good thing.

Yes, I've done some Android development and even written custom ROMs. I'm fully aware that they can run in the background. I have an app that force stops unused apps, including FGRV, and another that shuts down apps via battery optimization. As for "absolutely needed", probably none of my apps are absolutely needed, but where's the fun in that?

PS. Those who got it working by uninstalling and reinstalling apparently got the new version when reinstalling. It didn't work this morning but it worked just now. This is being posted via the Android app. Thanks.

I am having trouble editing or deleting a post, I do not see an edit button?

Edit should be at the bottom, next to Quote. I believe it disappears after 12 or 24 hours. The app may be completely different.

Robert I wish I was closer to you I have no idea what you are talking on this android developing thing. I just plug along most times things work if I turn them off and reboot then they will usually load up.


a lot of times I do a reboot of the computer and while that is going on i unplug the router where a lot of the trouble starts for me!


but this time although some were having problems my cheap android tablet loaded up just fine. go figure in this stuff!!

Bob, they released an update to the Android app that caused the issue. It's since been fixed apparently. If you were using a browser to get to FGRV on your tablet, that was not affected. If you were using the app, you were only affected if the app was updated to the version that caused the issue.
