Another wrinkle, Alan, is that you must be logged in to use the Search function.

The "Search" drop down is on the blue navigation bar ("nav-bar") beneath and just to the left of your login information. (Just to the left of "Quick Links" and "Log Out").

That nav-bar is in the same place of every page of the website, making it readily available from anywhere...If you are logged in.

Hi Mary, I see the nav-bar and also below it another "nav-bar" that is really a Google AD that has the words "RV Forums" in the bar as a button for selecting. I tried you suggestion and was able to narrow my search. Thanks for your help. I also noticed and did not know that your site primarily to Fiberglass campers. Still a good site though! Do you have a good link to aluminum sided campers like my old 75 prowler?

You can also use Google to search any specific website, not just fiberglassrv.

For example, from Google, enter the following search: site:fiberglassrv.com/forums spirit deluxe

This will return google search results for 'spirit deluxe' from fiberglassrv.com/forums only.

To search another site via google, just change the site after the colon. You don't need to be on that site to search that site, and it works whether you're on mobile or a desktop.

There are all kinds of custom search parameters you can use directly on Google (or any other search engine for that matter) which most people don't take advantage of, mainly because they aren't aware of them.

Check the boxes to the right of the messages you want to delete, select "Delete" from the drop down menu at bottom, the "Go".

If you want to delete the whole page, just select the box on the right of the blue title bar, then go to "Delete".

Hi there, a few pictures in my registry came in sideways. Is there a way for me to rotate them to the correct position?

Thanks

Delete them, then before uploading them again, edit them on a computer by rotating them 90 degrees. Save, then upload again.

To prevent it in the future, either take all pictures in landscape mode (phone held horizontally, not vertically) and with the shutter button to the right - or - for those which were not taken that way, upload to a computer, rotate, save, then upload.

Removing old posts when item is SOLD

When an item is sold, and seller posts to the thread "my trailer has sold" - that does not seem to do anything about removing the ad from the "for sale" section. I have noticed that some sellers (after item has sold) are unsure how to delete the ad. I noticed one such ad from Aug 2018, still in active for sale section. Should seller instead PM a moderator?

This is the preferred action.

As per the Marketplace Posting Rules, the best way to get a sold listing archived is to contact a moderator. We can't always be keeping up by going through all listings, though once in a while a moderator will take the time to do so.

I would like to know why, when I open the Fiberglass RV website, it shows that it is a secure site, (i.e. https,) but only until I log into the Forum, and then, once I have logged in, my top banner says that the site is now not secure, (i.e. http - no "s",) which I believe puts my, (and I'm assuming everybody else on the Forum,) at risk for being hacked. Why is it not also "https" like the rest of the site in order to protect our information privacy and security while we're on the Forum?

This issue was addressed recently. To the best of my ability to summarize, they could make it "secure" but would lose all the links that exist currently. Goodbye archive.

The only security risk to you is whatever you've posted publicly in the forums.
I tried to find the original response from the site team regarding this issue, but no luck.

..
Here is the post with the explanaton...
http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...tml#post724657

I am rather sure that the site could go to SSL and the links be preserved using web tools, then perhaps your browser warn you that elements in the a page were not secure. I think it would be good thing for the reasons in the link I posted when I asked about this, but it would take some effort and as far as I know.. no one gets a salary for maintaining this forum.

If you will recall, there was a recent situation with this site where something masquerading as an ad and it caused the users CPU to max out, doing (I think it was) bitcoin mining. If that can happen, then imagine what else might occure when you access this site without a valid SSL certificate to verify the credentials for the site. SSL is recommended for all web sites, not just those handling sensitive data. Just my two cents.
