How to use messages

How do I respond to a specific person's message in the forums? I just put a new message below all of them but wished I could just reply to that person with a question of thanking the person for information.???

Click on their name (top left in a post they've made) and you will see Send Private Message.

Carolyn,
If you click on the person's name for example mine to the left of this post a drop down menu will appear. Click on the one that say's something like"Send a Private Message to ...." and then type away and when finiished click on "Submit message".

BTW.
Tried to say, "you are welcome" but you have your account set to not accept messages.
