Is this "Mark forum read" behavior correct?

I like to mark a forum board as read after reading the posts that interest me. That way the next time I return I do not see the messages that I chose to not read on my previous visit. When viewing the forum boards with my smartphone I can mark a board as read and move on to the next board to read the new messages there, and so on through the entire forum. However with my LG-V410 tablet more times than not when I mark a board as read the entire forum will be marked as read.

My question is what is the correct behavior for that feature, should it mark the entire forum as read or just the forum board that the feature is called from?

Can't help you, you're using a mobile app. I'm on a laptop using the Default Skin. Under those circumstances, it works for me!

Thanks Donna, when I use the laptop or the smartphone it works as I expect, marking only the current forum board as read. With the tablet using the mobile app there are times it will mark every unread message thread as read. 😡 Maybe some one else can give a definitive answer.

Please explain exactly what you are doing. Are you using the check mark or are you swiping the thread title? If you use the check mark, you are marking all threads as read. If you swipe, you should only be marking the thread in question. And just so we are on the same page, I think what you are referring to as a board is what I am calling a "thread" and the individual entries within a thread I refer to as "posts."

Carl my terminology is as follows:

Forum = all of the FIberglass RV Community
Board = a subsection of the forum: I.e. this section we are in at the present.
Thread = a collection of posts under a single topic.
Post = an individual post to a thread.

Now that is out of the way, you are saying that the check mark does mark the entire forum as read. Knowing that will make my life here much easier.

Just how does the "swipe" work, I have not mastered that nor been able to figure it out.

Thanks for the info Carl.

Michael,
When you get to the "unread" threads, hitting the check mark will result in a pop-up asking if you want to mark ALL as read (yes or no).
If you swipe a particular thread from right to left, you will get a panel which has a check mark and other symbols. Pressing the check mark will mark that one thread as read. Check your settings (below the People tab) to make sure "unread behavior" is set to off.
Hope this helps.

Just to report, on my LG-V410 tablet swiping does not work but a long press on a forum board (see my terminology above) brings up a menu with a mark read selection.
