Membership rank? I don't think there is anything rank about our membership. We use deodorant, and we bathe regularly....

It's more than meet and greet. Donna can find links to threads that are so on topic that they resolve most disagreements, or at least define the arguments of both sides as completely as necessary. Most topics have come up before, and Donna is active on so many web sites that she can draw from a much wider range of threads.

Donna is definitely a great asset to all FGRV members.
It's great we don't have to climb to the peak of the highest
mountain to get sage advice.

Just log on here, ask our questions and/or share our concerns,
be patient, and Donna shows up and several others with the answers.

There are LOTS of members here ready to offer advice and assistance. I just happen to read 99% of the posts and know where most of the bones are buried.

I haven't forgotten my roots. But, I'm spending more time over on the EscapeForum because what my future will hold. I have to learn about my soon-to-be trailer and that's the best place to get the info.

Anyone that needs help and hasn't found the answer here, is welcome to send me a PM or email. Always glad to help if I can.

Those member ranks are the standard ones that built into the fum software. We could change them however and new members might especially enjoy some more topical rank titles...

If anyone has some suggestions post them up. Typically a good ranking scheme would have 5 or 6 levels (based on post count). As an example a forum about money might have ranks along these lines: Has a piggy bank, Saves Sofa Change, Sterling Member, Gold Standard Member, Millionaire, Billionaire, etc.

Anyone want a change or have suggestions?

Fiberglass RV Members Listing by Number of Posts

#2 = "Legacy Posts"
These are all of the retrieved posts made by the total membership between this site's founding in October of 2002 to the big destruction hack of November 2005. The posts survive, but the attribution to author did not, as neither did any pictures attached to them.

#3 is a distant third at less than 1/2 of those by #1.

I am not sure when Donna actually joined. The official date on her profile is 11/12/2005. I am guessing this is her, after hack account. I bet more then a few of those Legacy Posts are also hers.

We are blessed.

I dislike multitier ranking systems based on post count. A guy like
Floyd, for example, doesn't post nearly as often as a blabbermouth like me BUT when he does say something it's usually very much to the point. Which I certainly can't always say for my own posts!

Two tiers seems like plenty- I think differentiating the newest folks may be a help to them. A good heads up that here's someone who may be unfamiliar with how things work, etc., so the rest of us should bear that in mind.

I'd change "senior member" to just plain "member", though.

Francesca and I agree again. How peculiar is that?
I'm not fond of "cute", and I wouldn't make any particular effort to change what's already there.

The ranking based on number of posts alone often may have nothing to do with the quality of these posts from the member. We have good contributing members with many, many posts, and some with very few. Conversely, some members with lots of posts are often the ones that invoke discussion behind the forums closed doors.

I see nothing wrong at all with a little bit of "cuteness" on the forum, just like in the rest of life, it can add a bit to the sense of friendliness and community. Heck, just look at all the labelling on beer and wine now, lots of cute names and images to catch your eye. I know a girl or two who cutes herself up with makeup and apparel to get notice. 'tis really just a part of life.

Just as this thread has merit for some good fun, the rest of this site too does not have to be all serious activity.

Playing is fine.....just play nice!

I agree that a little cute is ok. More to the point, the cookie cutter forum rankings are well.... um dull. They are the same at every other vBulletin (software) forum out there. We can do better. Eggs are unique and the board, imo, could reflect that. We don't have to go with an egg theme if cute is a concern, we could try for something camping centric for instance...

Beta Camper
Casual Camper
Experienced Camper
Donna

personally I love the egg theme...

Admires Eggs
Covets Eggs
Serious Egger
Egg Head
Egger Extraordinaire
Donna

or....?
