Need advice from ole pros

Live in tx and want to buy a used scamp 5 wheel. My problem is that there air none to be found close by. I don't want to travel 1k+ to find a dud. Are there people on this site that will inspect a trailer for you? I will pay. My email is merrill.ramsey1@ gmail.com.

Merrill, I have went to look for people several times, I think it's fun to look at glass so I know I am always willing withing distance to check stuff out. Actually one I went to look at was a dud and the member took my recomendation not to buy it!

Recently a member needed one checked out in another state, don't live there anymore but still know lot's of people there. Got a friend to look at it for the member. The member was able to make the purchase and make arrangments to have the trailer stored till fall for pick up.


It's just a matter of finding someone that is close by to whatever 4-sale you find. Good Luck!

Yep, I have looked for others and travelled to buy on others recommendations. We don't normally charge each other, yet offer to cover out of pocket expenses. It is sort of a pay it forward kind of thing. We do the same for parts as we do trailers.

The Buyers Checklist in the Document Center really helps everyone. I've used blank copies to easily make notes while the viewer has read me their findings from the copy they used. That way you don't miss anything.

Merrill, I have never taken even gas money, though it was offered. Some members just made a contribuation to the forum in my name! Which was very nice......


But in this day and age of gas prices, offering to pay for gas might be a incentive to getting local help. Again, Good Luck!
