I agree. Much harder on the eyes.

Just a suggestion - Add a sub menu to the Rally Map menu with 2011 & 2012 maps.

Help!

I have looked for days to find where the "mark all read" button is.

Each time I come to the forums, I get all the new messages AND all the previous messages since the forum changed.

I am going blind trying to find that button......please help!

Mike

You can find this under the quicklinks drop down menu (upper nav bar)

You can mark all threads within a single forum area as read by using the forum tool drop down at the top of an open forum area.

Mark all read button location

Thanks for the response......however, just after exiting the board, I remembered that this forum has always required two steps to the mark all read button. I came back and cancelled out of the "new Posts", back to the previous page, and there was the Mark read button.

I still would like to see you move that mark read button at the bottom of the new posts page. That is where the other two trailer boards put that button, it saves a key stroke or two, and the process would be identical to the other two boards.

Thanks again,

Mike

Mike, threads titles are changed to be unbolded after you have viewed them and when there is no new content. Once a new post has been made to a thread, the title will be bolded again and when you open the thread (if you are logged in) you shoudl be taken to the newest post that you have not seen. This is set up so that there's really no need to mark a thread read. Is this a feature that you use?

I like the background of the border of the reply box... just enough tint to tone down the white. Is that possible?
I'm not a huge fan of the narrower width boxes, more scrolling to read posts, etc. Is it to leave room for more ads for the unregistered?
But, change goes on...
In a week or so, we'll all not (probably) remember so much about the old forum environment.

I don't mind whatever changes are made. I am grateful that the forum exists and there are moderators to maintain it for us. I can deal with change most of the time. :-)

Thanks to everyone involved..

Hold down the ctrl key and roll the mouse wheel forward...

This actually only makes the image larger, but it might make you think the screen is wider.

Cam, the problem is you are using the "default" style, instead of "FGRV 2.0." The default style sandwiches the forum posts between the left and right navigation columns.

FGRV 2.0 removes the left navigation column (much of that information is under the "More" tab, up top) so that there is the normal amount of width in the forum posts.

I don't think the programmers are working on improvements to the default style. The "new look" is FGRV 2.0.

I too use the Default style. The only thing in the right navigation is "upcoming events." I can't use FGRV 2.0. I'll scroll more if it's necessary, rather than squint because the background is too bright. Is there a reason NOT to soften the color a bit on FGRV 2.0?

I agree with Donna and the others on the white background. Ouch!

I agree with the many who don't like it. The new version is too bright, and the default is too narrow.

I like the "style" of FGRV 2.0. Really like it when the forums filled the whole screen... works great for pictures, no horizontal scroll bar needed. It's the bright white I can't handle....

There is now an option in your account options (>user cp >> edit options) to disable the right hand column. The white has been taken down a notch a few days ago and we'll keep looking at this. Tiny steps...

Turned it off. Saved changes. Shows it's off, but it's still there

Try logging out and then logging back in after you make the changes.

It will be turned off so you get the full width for posts within a topic thread, but NOT in any lists of threads. Lists like "new posts" or "general chat" will still have the right column activated.
