New Forum Look Soon

I wanted to give you a heads up. In a few days the forum is going to get a bit of a facelift. The software will remain the same and the functionality as well, but we will have a slightly fresher look and a couple of new features.

The most notable new features will be some drop down menus to make forum navigation easier and the left side column will be moved to the right side. We don't anticipate any substantial down time with this change.

Here's a sneak peak (minus the right side column) with one of the drop downs open...

I like change. Dynamic beats static hands down. Where will we find the Document Center?

I hate change. (Just to be contrary, Donna!)

Well the good news for you then, is that it's only a small change (glass half full and all...)

Donna the docs and links and various other items will still be accessible from the drop down menu. If they seem too hard to find we can add links in the right column or elsewhere.

One additional feature to look forward to in the right column is a listing of latest posts. This should make keeping up with emerging topics really easy and is a good addition to the new posts link at the top of the page.

Big thanks to the administrator and moderators whose work makes this forum so useful and enjoyable! I particularly like just cruising through the pictures... especially when I'm 'camping deprived'!

Wow, I just got use to the last change. Thanks for keeping me on my toes, I'll adjust.

Still trying to adjust to my new iPad. Really tough getting old.

Yeah, change is good, if only because it keeps us able to deal with change.

One change in the new layout that isn't as user-friendly as it used to be is the size of the 'Go to first new post' icon - and I bet I'm not the only one that only accesses threads through that icon. It's hard to click on such small icons - or is that just me getting older?

Hi: Janet H...Some changes are easier for us oldies and good colour saturation is welcome to my eyes!!! Navigating around the forum will come easier with time. One thing I miss is an "Up& Down" page Icon so I don't have to roll/scroll with my mouse finger. Any chance of having one installed say beside the (Post Reply) ones at the top and bottom of the pages...Just Askin'???

The all white background is killing my eyes. Guess I'll need to wear sunglasses....

Can we get the information back into the post visible profile.... location and trailer brand? Both are of value when answering questions.

Ha! The first thing I did was search for a way to chance the white background to cool blue so as to make it easier to read.

Right on, Donna. That all-white background makes it very hard to read.

HA... I just got the old forum look back!

Go to the very bottom of the main forums page... on the left hand side where it says FGRV 2.0 and use the pull down... change to "Default."

ahhhh my eyes feel better already. I wonder how long they'll let us keep it?

Well crud, that didn't last 10 minutes. Guess someone flipped the off switch. Too bad members can't choose a skin that works best for them....

Ah, that's better. Let's see how long it lasts... I'm still afflicted with an old CRT monitor - which has a square, rather than a rectangular view. Any way to get rid of the recent thread area on the right (I can only minimize it, but it still takes up the real estate). As it is, the post that I am trying to read is like a column in a newspaper, ie, narrow and annoying....

I like most of the changes, but also miss the location of member and trailer type. I get excited to find others in Colorado and am hopeful to find others close by.
Thanks for all of the hard work and energy you all put into this site. It is a very valuable tool and FUN too.

Thanks for all the hard work. I like change. A "change" back to the old color would be great It's a bit bright in here.

Cheers,
Mark

Agree

I agree with Wildbirder that the large yellow blocks are too much but outside of that no problem.
